Safety First: HDT in times of Covid-19
Dear valued customer and partner,
We hope this message finds you, your families, friends and collegues well and in good health. This special situation is difficult for all of us - at home and at work.
The life and work at our factory in China and office in Hong Kong is slowly, but step by step, going back to normal. This also shows us in the other countries the light at the end of the tunnel. After reopening the factory on February 18th we are now at 80-90% capacity, even the staff from Hubei province is back to work since beginning of this week. The supplier network is partly still struggling with lead times and deliveries, so please do plan slightly extended lead times (plus 2-4 weeks).
Our offices in Germany and Serbia are available as usual - our staff being partly in the office and partly in the homeoffice, but working normal. We we are following the official recommendations concerning hygiene and contact in order to minimize the risk of infection.
One other topic we want to bring to your attention - if you are not already aware of this - the significant increase of air freight rates. UPS Hong Kong announced a surcharge of up to 2.5 USD/kg today. TNT anounced already last week that all air shipments are restricted to a maximum of 100kg. We recommend to use a potentially slower business during these weeks to change planned air freight to sea freight shipments.
Just contact us if you have any questions, we are at your service.
Thank you for your continued business.
Be safe and be responsible.
